Work ... %$#&^

Hadn't been into the forums much the last several weeks because I went back to work (private sector) welding for a company. Get up at 3:00, drive 45 miles, work 10 hour days, 5 days a week, then get back home around 5:30 in the evenings.

Its time to retire again, but its been nice hitting the road at that time in the morning on the V2K.

I'm so sorry, Ken. That sounds like a really tough schedule. As for me, I'm lazing around on my big ***, but I've been looking for a job every day. There aren't any to speak of around here, at least in my field. I *knew* I should have gone into nursing! There are dozens of new nursing jobs posted every single day. Damn.

bummer Ken, but like you said, it's nice being on the road at that time. hopefully you can retire again some time soon. specifically before say July or August of 2009.

As a smaller guy, seems I always managed to find myself stuck in the holes welding up structure. that SUCKS and someday my lungs are going to revolt due to the crap i inhaled.

I hear ya Ken. I've been looking for something new for a very long time...and I'm still in the same chair...drives me nuts. People say you should be grateful for the one you have, but you know, sometimes, I'm just not!

hang in there buddy!

I'm welding huge compactors together, these are the ones that sit behind the larger stores and some that are mounted on Semi trucks to crush cardboard and other items.

It is some real butt busting work, but I am actually enjoying it. Just doesn't leave much time to get other things done during the week. Now they are asking me to take a desk job and I think I would rather weld ... had enough of that desk stuff over the years.
