I signed up for this group called CouchSurfing.com. It hooks up people all around the world who are willing to share a room or a couch in their homes and people who need a place to stay for a night or two.
I got a request today from a woman who's just returning from a 4,000-mile hitchhiking trip around the US. From what I can tell, she doesn't currently have a home. She's from Nederland (a little town near Boulder), but she needs a place for a few nights and is looking for a room to rent for the month of October.
I'm looking forward to talking to her. She's 62, and it sounds like she's just living her adventures. That's exactly what I'd like to be able to do. I read the recommendations people posted about her, and she sounds like a fun person.
So we may have some company for a few days. I'm bored as hell since I'm not working right now, so this could be a lot of fun.
