Fogged Shield and Glasses

I've been riding in to work a majority of the days, and it's like 50 degrees in the mornings right now...(BRRR), I'm wearing a full face helmet, and some plastic shades. I also wear a bandana around my chin area cuz it's cold...ha..But I fog up quite a bit especially when I come to a stop.

Is there any way of preventing this?

stop breathing...that'll fix it.

open your shield just a bit to allow better air flow

i think it's the glasses that are giving you the problems Dawn, and you're gonna have trouble keeping them from fogging with the temp where it is. also, the bandana is not helping. i would go with a tinted shield, or at least a tinted strip at the top of a clear shield. then, leaving it cracked open like Spok mentioned will actually help you. a lot of clear shields are fog free, but i have yet to see a tinted one that is. if you stick with a clear shield and just add the tint stripe at the top, you might not have any issues.

I think the bandana is causing part of it too...My chin gets too cold though..LOL! The other day even my windshield fogged up, it was wierd. Anyway, thanks for the tips.. I'll work on breathing - I've opened up the shield, and that cuts down on it, but it can still be dangerously fogged, even with it open a crack...I'll try switching glasses and shields...

forget the glasses and use this method.
"DAWN" dish soap.
wipe it on the interior of your shield. sparingly.
just enought to film it in a thin laayer.
i usually rub it in a bit with my finger.
then i use a rag to wipe the rest of it into the shield till you have a clear sheen with no blurring.

typically it will work for about a week or more before you will need to do it again.

trust me!!!

So, essentially what we're talking about here is that Dawn is a Heavy Breather.

...Not that there's anything wrong with that.

alright, I will do that today, and trust that it will work!! Thanks Mayo!!! So, just to be sure I understand...just rub in on with my fingers, straight, not diluted...then with a rag, rub it all the way in...? Can I breathe??? Because using Spok's method of not breathing has been rough!

you got it girl.
and yes you can breathe as much as you want.

should work regardless.
like i said...it only lasts a little while, but if you wear some other type of glasses it will not work for them,at least in my experience.
