Wrasslin'

Tracy got us some free tickets to NWA Wrestling this past Saturday, and since it sounded better than our usual Saturday nite fare of veg on the couch we decided to go. I looked all over for a wife-beater to wear, and a mullett wig but couldn't find either.

Anyways, it turned out to be a pretty entertaining evening. Some of the matches had participants that looked a little amatuerish, but as the night progressed the matched got better. (their was even a ladies match...woo hoo!!!!) The main event inclued "Big Sexy" Kevin Nash (for all you wrestling afficianado's)

Hands down though, the best part of the evening was watching about 35 amped up 8 years old try to kill each other beside the ring during the intermission. I tell you, it was f'n hillarious. Everyone just sta back and let the kiddies go at it, they were stomping the crud out of one another.............it was very entertaining to say the least.

All in all it was a good evening, and free to boot. couldn't ask for more than that.

Believe it or not, my father used to do that.
I don't tell many people that. So consider yourselves very well liked. It was before I entered this world, so that kinda makes it ok.

Back in the day, I used to watch Stampede Wrestling religuosly. Many of the top "pro-wrestlers" of our time we schooled in Stu Hart's basement dungeon in Calgary.

I used to be a big wrestling head, but it got too far out there. There was more "backstage stories" and less ring action.

Even though the finishes are pre-determined, the athletecism to do those stunts without getting killed is amazing, so my hat is off to them. Just not my cup of tea anymore.

I'm on to UFC now...

The only time I ever watched wrestling was when I used to hang out a neighborhood bar that had quarter (yeah, 25 cents) draws during the wrestling matches. I had a lot of fun. Not from the wrestling, in particular, but from drinking all that beer with a bunch of rowdy guys.

Ah, the good old days...

My mother used to watch it every Saturday morning when I was a kid. I remember Bruno Samartino, Andre The Giant, Rick Flair, Killer Kawalski,
