The Sheep are here!

I couldn't get to the camera in time, but the Mountain Sheep have finally come down from the mountains. I came home yeaterday to find 5 of them grazing on the neighb ours lawn. Their were two good sized rams with big horns in the group. When we took the dog for a walk later on, they were hanging out on a cliff about 20 feet above us watching our every move.

Hopefully I can snap some photos soon.

The herd used to number around 70 or so, but about 5 years ago a virus killed off at least 3/4 of them. They have slowly been increasing in numbers, and I guess everyone around here gets pretty excited wen they show up in the fall and let us know tey still exist.

How fun! We have to go up to Rocky Mountain National Park to see them. It must be really cool to have them in your yard! The only thing we get in our yard is deer.
