Corbin Quality issue?!?!?!?

Or am I over reacting?
I just received my new Dual Tour Saddle and backrest. I have owned 2 and I have always found them the most comfortable and best looking, so I didn't hesitate to re-mortgage the house to get the set for the new bike.
But I'm not happy now.
The "stud-panel" in the back of the seat is 1/2 longer on the right than the left.



Three of my friends and I are sure they installed an extra set of bumpers that don't allow the seat to sit flush on the frame. Notice the crease in the center of the two circled bumpers where the hit the center of the ridge on my battery box?



And lastly... I just can't believe they designed it this way... my backrest. Looks like a 12 year old made a slip cover in shop class. The whole 2 inch ring around the back is not fastened anywhere except under the bracket (which would secure it anyway!).




I've now waited 2 days for a reply to my email.... I'm calling tomorrow.

Thats the norm Frank.......we have run into that many times at the dealership with Corbin........we no longer will order any thing from them......very crappy stuff and no service, we avoid them at all costs!!!!

This is the first bad thing I've heard about them That is pretty bad though. It's not like they sell cheap, bike rally type stuff. When you call, try to be nice at first, and if that doesn't work, let it rip! Don't be affraid to let them know you are a poster, and you'll let everyone know they didn't take care of you. But if they do take care you, you'll do the same. Tell them to inspect the replacements.

Frank, my stuff is still in good shape, but sure hear a lot of complaints over the last couple of years since I got all 3 of my bikes done. I wouldn't put up with that stuff. I would call Mike Corbin at the Hollister Plant and talk with him directly.

i am not happy with the quality of mine either. the comfort is unreal, but for $650 i should have a seat that doesn't absorb water. and i also have some fitment issues like you as well. my passenger seat doesn't fit in straight, it sits at an angle. and to get my driver's backrest in, i have to search for the slot in which it goes. my buddy Jeff just bought one for his VTX and and i am pretty sure he had some similar issues with his as well. i guess i see why Todd swears by Mustang.

one would think for the money that their customer service AND quality would be better.

I've not heard that they have pizz poor customer service but i'd never be one to pay that much for a seat, tho mustangs ain't exactly cheap either.

After my phone call, I'm cautiously optimistic. Spoke with a manager in Florida and he says they will make it right. I'll keep you posted. Do you think the fact that when you google Poor Corbin Quality my thread comes up on another forum as the first response MIGHT have something to do with it?
