I hear ya about playin' and ridin'! Both have a massive calming affect on me. I can be having a horrible day and do either and it's better

I have been playing Native American flute for almost 4 years, Some of you have heard me at RRed Lodge.. The flute does not lend itself to a group setting, its more of a solo instrument, and ita great fun to play.

Drummer here, does that qualify? lol

I always hear the joke, "What do you call the guy hanging around with a bunch of musicians?...The drummer!"

Played almost my whole life, 4th generation. I played in bands until about 5 years ago, right about the time I got married... My brother is also a drummer, we played together in our last band of 9, trading off between the Latin percussion set and kit. Sometimes during the same song. That was always fun to watch the crowd when they noticed. Ah, I miss the days. I haven't even picked up the sticks in at least 4 years. Packed away in the garage.

We had about 90-100 covers, and an album or two of original stuff. All, I guess you could say rock and roll, with a few rap & country songs converted to R&R.

Drummers are always welcome... my best friend of 40 years is a drummer - we are in the same band.

OK, you've drug it out of me. . . .

About 30 years ago, I played keyboards with a band in Wichita, KS. We had a lead singer there who has since moved on to host a very popular reality TV show, though it seems he's forgotten his bandmates. . .

In the last 6-8 years the other half and I have started our own little singing duo. We both have always loved music, and being the computer geek that I am, I was challenged by that, so we've been kicking that. We do a lot of varied stuff, from the 50s/60s up to Uncle Kracker & Lady Antebellum.

We've got a Roland 77-key synth, an Ensoniq Stage Piano, a Yamaha synth, a Tapco/Mackie mixer w/effects, a Behringer mixer without, two Digitech vocalizers, an Alesis sound module, and a crappy PA. I play keyboards, and play at guitar,(I am a half-fast guitarist at best. . ) the other half plays piano, and is our lead singer. We pretend to be a band by using MIDI, doing the backing tracks, etc., since forming a band once again is way too much BS for either of us old folk to put up with again! We've recorded two CD's so far, and are working on our third right now. It should be interesting.

We call ourselves "ECHO", and if you want to check out some of our stuff, you can drop by http://hear-the-echo.com. We have a pull-down toward the bottom of the page that has some of our older stuff on it. We've improved quite a bit since those recordings were done(Thank God!!!) but it's got a smattering of what we've done.

If we were all in the same place at the same time, we could have a helluva band. . .
