There's a bike shop here in town(Suzuki dealer) that's either going out of business, or just closing the dealership. I'm going to take a peek there as soon as I get a chance. I'm such a cheap bastige . . . . .
Open face with a shield ain't bad but nothing like the "cold block" of a FF. I just put my glasses on after I get the helmet on. Add a balaclava with that and it's pretty much total protection from the cold, at least from the neck up

Ok, yeah... that would bug the heck outta me. A little bit of pantleg flap ain't too bad but having the plating or the padding joslin' around or beatin' me up sounds like no fun at all.

I go agatt. I have the pants with pads in the knee, it does not flap around. If it did I have the option of taking it out or moving it to anther position. I wear a modular helmet most of the time. I have a 3\4 with sheild and half helmet. My bike has a windsheild. Still get hit in the face with bugs and other things when wearing other helmets. Have winter and summer overpants. Textile mesh jacket for warm weather to hot. Wear leather jacket in cold. Light weight gloves in hot weather. Heavy gloves in cooler to cold weather.

I always wear Alpinestar leather jacket, boot and gloves, it is really very nice gear, its products are too stylish, and very comfy, I am happy with my gears.
